Grounded in Space, Guided by Nature

Introducing In Bloom Ikebana

Meet Tara
Founder In Bloom Ikebana

My journey into the architecture of Ikebana began amid the fast-paced world of grand event and wedding floristry. While designing lavish displays for unforgettable moments brought immense creative joy, I found myself longing for a deeper, more intentional connection to plant/botanical materials. This pull led me to Mottainai - the Japanese philosophy of respecting natural resources and finding profound beauty in what others might overlook: a twisting, lichen-covered branch, a curled leaf, or a simple seed pod.

Driven by this call for minimalism and structural balance, I spent years under the rigorous discipline and training of the prestigious Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Upon qualifying for Teacher status, I was bestowed with the special honour of my flower name, Eiyu (meaning “Brave Leader”). Today, this lifelong practice guides my studio space and teachings, transforming the way creative individuals, modern design teams, and luxury brands interact with spatial harmony and the natural world.

True to the words of Lao Tzu, 'Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.' The practice of Ikebana is a meditative, active ritual. It is an invitation to step away from the digital noise, put down the chaos of the week, and master the art of presence. In our studio sessions, we minimise excess to focus on the lines and form, the geometric angles, and the sacred energy of Ma - the intentional space left between the stems.

We teach a new way of seeing. Under guided mentorship, you will learn to harmonise with nature, discover how a single, artfully placed stem can instantly redefine an entire room. You will leave the studio not just with a physical piece of living sculpture, but with a foundational design toolkit and a restored sense of internal calm.
